Cooling‑Off Period (Section 44 of the Consumer Protection Act)
Customers who purchase goods through an electronic transaction are entitled to a cooling‑off period of 7 business days from the date of delivery.
During this period, customers may cancel their order provided that:
- the goods are unused, unworn, and in a resaleable condition
- all original packaging, labels, and tags remain intact
- the goods are not personalised, custom‑made, or made to the customer’s specifications, as excluded under Section 44(3)
Return shipping or courier costs during the cooling‑off period are for the customer’s account, as permitted under Section 44(2)(c).
International Cooling‑Off
For international shipments, the cooling‑off right applies only before the parcel has been dispatched from South Africa.
Once a parcel has left South Africa, the order is regarded as fully executed and cannot be cancelled or returned due to logistical, customs, and regulatory constraints.
If a customer nevertheless requests a return after international dispatch, all associated costs will be for the customer’s account, including but not limited to:
- return courier or shipping fees
- customs duties and taxes
- clearance, handling, or storage charges
These costs are determined by third‑party service providers and authorities and are outside of our control.
General Returns (Section 20 of the CPA)
Customers may return goods within 14 days of delivery if the following conditions are met:
- goods are unused, unworn, and in their original condition
- all original labels and packaging are intact
- goods are not personalised or custom‑made
Customers are responsible for the costs associated with returning goods, unless:
- the incorrect item was delivered, or
- the goods are defective, as contemplated in Section 55 and Section 56 of the CPA
In such cases, we will cover the reasonable costs of return and re‑delivery.
Exchanges
Exchanges for size or style are permitted within 14 days of delivery, subject to stock availability and successful inspection of the returned item.
Replacement items will only be dispatched once the returned goods have been received and approved, and any outstanding amounts have been settled.
Defective Goods (Sections 55 and 56 of the CPA)
Customers are entitled to receive goods that are of good quality, in good working order, and free from defects, as provided for in Section 55 of the CPA.
Where goods are found to be defective within 6 months of delivery, customers may exercise their rights under Section 56, which include repair, replacement, or refund, subject to assessment.
International Returns
International orders cannot be returned once they have been dispatched from South Africa due to customs and logistical constraints.
If a customer chooses to return an international order after dispatch, all costs associated with the return are for the customer’s account. Customs duties, taxes, and clearance fees are non‑refundable.
